NourishNC’s Mission
We are a 501-c(3) non-profit organization that provides hungry children with healthy food, empowering them to succeed in the classroom and in their community. 1 in 4 children in New Hanover County struggle with hunger. Our vision is to be anywhere and everywhere those hungry kids need us. NourishNC mobilizes volunteers and resources to provide supplemental food assistance to these children who might otherwise go hungry. We do this because hunger wreaks havoc on children’s mind, body, and spirit.
What We Do
The Backpack Program: This program is specifically designed to put healthy food right into the hands of K-5 children. These children receive 8 easy to prepare meals, healthy snacks, milk or juice, and fresh produce every weekend.
Nourish Boxes: Pre-K, middle and high school students receive monthly boxes that contain four weekends worth of healthy food and fresh produce.
Break Boxes: For all school breaks NourishNC provides all children on our program with at least 3 meals a day, healthy snacks, juice, milk and fresh produce.
Pantry Pals: We provide schools and other nonprofits that serve children with emergency food, fresh fruits & vegetables, and healthy snacks.
Mobile Farmer’s MarKid: Our mobile “Farmers MarKID” is a direct and hands on approach to improving the health of children in our community. We take free fresh fruits and vegetables to wherever kids need us: food deserts, parks, playgrounds, after school programs, high need schools, and other nonprofits.

I am hoping you will join me in raising both awareness and financial support for the cause of having One Less Hungry Child. NourishNC, is a local non-profit that I am working with to make this a reality.

Your donations will have an immediate impact on the Children and Families these programs support now and into the future. This organization is local in scope (New Hanover County, NC), which allows them / us to contribute to those we live with on a daily basis. Please see the NourishNC mission statement (left) for details on the many programs your donation(s) will support.
During the month of February they are launching the “Spread the Love” campaign. All monies donated will have a local corporate matching mechanism in-place. As well as, the company I work for (Edrington) double-matching all donations that I we raise up to a total of $5000. Obviously, what we can contribute will have both my companies match but also, the local corporate piece which in-turn doubles what we can raise.
In closing and on a personal note; I want to THANK YOU for taking the time to consider my request. It is my opinion that as a society we will be remembered for how we care for those who cannot care for themselves and I believe there is no better way to make this happen than supporting all of our children.
